Information and Communications Coordinator

Full time | Permanent Position

Position Description | Advertisement Classification: AO6 $90,360 – AO7 $108,599- Darwin or Katherine Based

This position revolves around the ongoing maintenance and updating of KWHB’s Intranet and website, to enable our entire remote health service to communicate important messages, services and activities effectively. This role includes researching, recommending and initiating systems for continuously improving internal communications; the hands-on production and/or project management of information, resources and publications; looking after the KWHB ‘brand’ and supporting the provision of high quality information for internal and external audiences. Responsibilities include developing strategies to ensure the acceptance of these services within the organisation and the community and to ensure that a positive image of KWHB is maintained.

MECSH Nurse- Katherine 

Full time | Permanent Position

Position Description | Advertisement Classification: RAN1 $104,623 – RAN3 $112,402

In conjunction with the broader PHC team, the MECSH Nurse is responsible for the identification and enlistment of families that satisfy enrolment criteria and would benefit from the Maternal Early Childhood Sustained Home-visiting (MECSH) program.

The MECSH Nurse will provide culturally appropriate care, support, advice and education for clients and their families participating in the program whilst maintaining fidelity to the MECSCH program schedule. The MECSH Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with other members of the KWHB MECSH team, the broader primary health care team and other key agencies to promote best outcomes for clients and their families.

The MECSH nurse will also be required to liaise with other Tier 1 and Tier 2 MECSH workers as appropriate.

Aboriginal Clinician Lead

Position Description | Advertisement Classification: Senior AHP/AHW or RN

Health Coaching is an evidence-based way to help clients better manage their own chronic illness self-care needs by: (i) increasing client knowledge about their health, (ii) improving client self- management skills, (iii) assisting clients with care coordination. Health coaching has been successfully implemented in First Nations PHC settings in North America and is delivered most effectively by First Nations peoples themselves. Self-management support is a significant gap in our current Aboriginal Primary Health Care (PHC) service delivery model.

The lead Aboriginal Clinician will work in partnership with a Curriculum Writer/Project Officer to develop and document a Curriculum and Implementation Guide/Resources for Health Coaching in remote Aboriginal Communities in the NT. The recruitment target group is Aboriginal school leavers.
