Indigenous Hip Hop Projects Visits Kalkarindji

12-May-2012 - Clean Face, Strong Eyes VIDEO - Kalkarindji Mob

Katherine West Health Board Aboriginal Corporation are working together with the Gurindji people to eradicate Trachoma. This week, Indigenous Hip Hop Projects spent time in Kalkarindji and Daguragu learning the ways of the community and filming a health promotion video. Together we hope this video creates awareness of Trachoma and plays a part in its prevention in the Northern Territory.

5-May-2012 - Commitment needed now to fix morgue services
Following the release this week of a damning Ombudsman's report into morgue services in the Northern Territory, the Katherine West Health Board now asks the NT Government to commit ongoing funding to the Shires for the establishment of properly managed morgues in our remote communities.

Established in 1998, the Katherine West Health Board Aboriginal Corporation (KWHB) is the sole provider of primary health care services (clinical, emergency and preventative) to mostly aboriginal clients over a 162,000 sq/km region on the western side of Katherine, in the Northern Territory.

This enormous area of rolling bush and river country extends from Katherine in the north east, throughout the Victoria River region, and down to Lajamanu on the edge of the Tanami Desert.
